• Read Nehemiah 9.1-37

When the celebration of God and his deliverance was completed, it was time to really deal with the sins of the people. Dealing with sin in a corporate manner is not something the church today has learned, but it was a critical aspect of the people of God in the Old Testament. (Cf 2 Chronicles 7.14)¹⁾.

   1. What brings about this kind of repentance?
   2. What is the thinking behind the concept of “confessing the sins of fathers”?
   3. Is that something we should consider today?
   4. Are there some areas in our past (family, mission, etc) that need dealt with?
2. The Worship of God – Nehemiah 9.5-37
   1. Take a short time and put a title, or descriptive phrase, on each verse in this section.
      Describe what is happening in these verses.
   2. If you were to write a worship psalm such as this one, what are some of the specific things you would include?
